Company History

  • April, 1938

    Established as Nitto Seikan Co., Ltd. in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo. Started manufacturing cigarette paper filter, designated by Japan Monopoly Corp. and vanished sleevings for electrical insulation.

     

  • August, 1947

    Merged with Nihon Shikan Gomei K.K. and started manufacturing cigarette packaging paraffin-waxed paper for Japan Monopoly Corp.

     

  • April, 1950

    Established the Ibaraki Plant as an exclusive cigarette packaging paper factory in Inaraki City, Osaka.

     

  • November, 1953

    Established the Osaka Sales Office.

     

  • October, 1954

    Started manufacturing cheese wrapper (PARASEALR)

     

  • Janualy, 1955

    Started manufacturing silicone resin-treated products and laminates.

     

  • March, 1961

    Started manufacturing copepr-clad laminates for printed wiring boards.

     

  • November, 1967

    Become the first manufacturing in Japan succeeded in mass-production of copper-clad laminates for flexible printed wiring boards.

     

  • April, 1968

    Established the Sakado Plant as an execusive laminate manufacturing factory in Sakado City, Saitama-pref.

     

  • June, 1970

    Established Nikkan Denzai Co.,Ltd. as electrical insulating material manufacturing subsidiary in Shiwa-gun, Iwate-pref.

     

  • October, 1971

    Merged with Takaya Denki (K.K.), increasing the capital to \150 million.
    Renamed Nikkan Industries Co., Ltd.

     

  • April, 1974

    Established Toyo Electronics Corp., through merger with Mitsui Shipyard and Shinko Denki, and separated its electronic equipment division.

     

  • February, 1975

    Completed the Nikkan Building in Ohokayama, Meguro-ku and consequently transferred the head office.

     

  • April, 1985

    Established Takahagi Nikkan Co., Ltd. as copper-clad laminates for flexible printed wiring boards manufacturing subsidiary in Takahagi City, Ibaraki-pref.

     

  • October, 1985

    Capital grew to \280 million as a result of successive capital increases.

     

  • October, 1988

    Established NTC Corp., as a subsidiary.

     

  • March, 1989

    Formed a business tie-up with Dupont Group concerning manufacture / sales and technology of copper-clad laminates for flexible printed wiring boards.

     

  • April, 1990

    Nikkan Denzai Kyogo Co., Ltd. completed its new plant.

     

  • April, 1991

    Established Iwate Nikkan Co., Ltd. as copper-clad laminates for printed wiring boards manufacturing subsidiary in Shiba County, Iwate-pref.

     

  • October, 1992

    Iwate Nikkan Co., Ltd. completed its main plant.
     

  • November 1995

    Iwate Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 9002 certification.

     

  • December 1995

    Takahagi Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 9001 certification.

     

  • December, 1997

    R&D Engineering Dept. relocated from Itabashi Plant to Sakado Plant.
     

  • April, 1998

    Discontinued production of cheese wrapping paper named (PARASEALR) at Itabashi Plant and had our associated company started production under our technical assistance.

     

  • September 1998

    Redevelop the Itabashi Plant.

     

  • February, 2000

    “Nikkan Mitsugi Heights” completed on site of former Itabashi Plant.

     

  • December, 2000

    Discontinued production of packaging materials at Ibaraki Plant and had our associated company started its production under technical assistance.

     

  • April, 2001

    Nikkan (Thailand) Co., Ltd. established as first overseas manufacturing subsidiary.
     

  • October 2001

    Iwate nikkan co., LTD. ‘s transition from ISO9002 to ISO9001.

     

  • October 2002

    Established Shanghai Representative Office.

     

  • January 2005

    Iwate Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 14001 certification.

     

  • March 2005

    Takahagi Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 14001 certification.

     

  • May, 2006

    Takahagi Nikkan Co., Ltd. installed a 4th dry laminator.

     

  • October, 2011

    Iwate Nikkan Co., Ltd. merged with Nikkan Denzai Kogyo Co., Ltd.

     

  • July 2013

    Thai Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 9001 certification.
     

  • October 2014

    Dry laminator newly installed at Thai Nikkan Co., Ltd.
     

  • August, 2017

    New Technology Development Division New Building “R & D Center” has been completed
     

  • August 2018

    Thai Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired ISO 14001 certification.

     

  • December 2020

    Thai Nikkan Co., Ltd. acquired IATF 16949 certification

     

  • March, 2021

    Established Kariya Sales Office.
